About Words from Word

You have probably played Words from Word on paper: take one long word and find as many shorter words hidden in its letters as you can. We brought the classic to the browser, so it is just as easy to play on a computer as on a phone.

The rules are simple. Each letter can be used as many times as it appears in the main word, and only common singular nouns count. The more words you find, the more stars you earn for the level.

How to play

  1. Look at the word at the bottom of the screen. Which short words are hiding in it?
  2. Tap the letters in order, then confirm the word with the check mark.
  3. A correct word appears in the table at the top.
  4. You need at least one star, a third of all the words, to unlock the next level. Find every word to earn three stars.
  5. Stuck? Tap the light bulb and it will reveal one of the words.

Tips from Brocco

  • Start with three-letter words. There are more of them than any other, so the first star comes quickly.
  • Try changing one letter in a word you already found: bar, car, cat.
  • Shuffle the letters of a found word: team, meat and mate often live side by side.
